I’m sure you are coming along great with the chord progressions that we were discussing previously.

There are several other chords you really need to know but for now I am going to show you a lovely chord progression that is very easy to play and a perfect first song to learn. Wonderwall by Oasis

Take a look at the chords below then we will go through it.

Now, I haven’t put the names of the chords up for now as they are not overly relevant for this. The important thing to note with this progression is the fact that the notes played on the B string and top E string remain the same throughout the progression. This means there is very little movement between the chords which makes it very easy to play.

Let’s go through each chord at a time:

Your first finger goes on the second fret of the A string

Your second finger goes on the second fret of the D string.

Your third finger goes on the third fret of the B string

Your fourth finger goes on the third fret of the top E string

As you can see this chord uses all the six strings so be sure to strum all of them.

To move to this chord from the last is very easy. Only one finger needs to move.

Everything stays the same as above except your second finger moves to the third fret of the bottom E string.

Six strings are once again played.

Put your second finger on the second fret of the G string.

Your third and fourth fingers once again stay the same. There is a reason why we do not use our first finger here.

Note this chord only has four strings played. you must avoid hitting the bottom E and A string.

All your previous fingers stay the same here except the addition of your first finger on the second fret of the D string. Only 5 stings are played.

It was well worth not using our first finger on the previous chord as it meant a nice easy move to this chord. This is something that you should consider when changing chords to ensure the quickest and most fluid changes.
