More on Bar Chords
After the last lesson on bar chords we learnt that taking the A minor chord shape, we could create any minor chord by moving the shape in the form of a bar chord up and down the fretboard.
Whilst the A minor shape is certainly a popular shape to move there are several others that are equally important. Knowing these shapes will allow you to quickly get to any given chord with little movement no matter where you are on the fretboard.
The most popular chord shapes you will find that you use as bar chords are the E shape, the Em shape, the A and of course the Am shape that we have previously discussed.
Remember that if you move the minor shape anywhere else on the fretboard , it will always remain a minor chord. This applies with all bar chords.
Have a go yourself and we will break a couple of examples down next time.
