In the last lesson about bar chords we discussed using the E and E minor shape to create 24 chords up the neck using just one shape! This means that if you have a songbook with chords written over the lyrics, you can pretty much play every song. The only issue with this is that you may find yourself jumping from the first fret up to the tenth fret! This takes away some of the fluidity of the music which is very important. You should by now be starting to familiarise  your self with Bar chords. this can be one of the first hard hurdles for a guitarist to overcome as changing to bar chords from any other chord is pretty tough, especially keeping it sounding fluid. The key here is to not give up and slowly try developing little exercises to slowly introduce bar chords into a chord progression - we will go through this later on.

Choosing a guitar book is pretty easy - Choosing a good guitar book is a whole different story.

As I have previously mentioned I have spent a small fortune impulse buying guitar books that I had hoped would help me improve as a guitar player. Almost all guitar books promised this but rarely did I find any that actually helped me. in this section of the site i will give you my favorite and worst guitar books with honest reviews. Hopefully this will prevent you from spending a fortune on what I would consider worthless purchases. Please bear in mind though, these are just my opinions and won’t necessarily mean that the guitar tuition books I did not get on with, will not work well for you.
